Texture is one of the seven elements of art and design. In some ways texture needs the other elements of art (shape, form, value, color, line) more than they need texture. Our Orcas tried drawing a variety of implied textures. By drawing friendly monsters, our students added varying amounts of texture, from rough to subtle. This makes drawing appear natural and gives a level of realism.
