Fine Arts program

At Summit-Questa Montessori, students explore the visual arts and music as an essential part of a well-rounded education. Beginning in Early Childhood and continuing through Elementary and Middle School, children become confident, self-expressive and emotionally intelligent learners, mastering their creative skills through art and musical experience.

Guided by classroom teachers and specialist faculty, students create, sing and explore a variety of artistic media and disciplines. Along the way, they build fine motor skills, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for the arts.

Areas of specialization

Art curriculum

Students begin exploring visual art from an early age through painting, clay, drawing, and hands-on creative projects. As they grow, their work becomes more detailed and intentional, building fine motor skills, artistic confidence, and self-expression.

Lessons are often connected to history and art appreciation, and by Middle School, visual arts are integrated into the core curriculum to deepen learning through creativity.

Music

Music is a  part of everyday school life from Early Childhood onward. Students begin with singing and percussions, gradually expanding into more complex instruments and composition. As they move through Elementary and Middle School, they learn theory, developing an appreciation for music.
